There were those of us who believed being a boy scout or a girl scout was the way to be. Nothing wrong with that when the economy was booming and we could have a nice lifestyle and still play the game straight. Now, there's no way we can even make a living and be the boy scout or girl scout. Even the Boy Scouts can't sell itself as an organization relevant to these times.
Yet, there are those among us Baby Boomers who still haven't let go of that old mindset of being a straight arrow. They may be jobless, out of a pension and with their houses underwater, but still they can't get it that they have to be crafty.
