It took a long time, lots of media presence, and enormous hustle. But finally political animal Dick Morris seems to have found his niche: kingmaker. At one time he was a strategist to Democratic leaders such as Bill Clinton. That ended in a sexual scandal - Morris's with a prostitute. Then he migrated to the GOP. Now, he's out there in-front anointing kings and raising money for their kingdoms.
In POLITICO, Alex Isenstadt reports:
"In his latest iteration, Morris has become something of a principal himself, headlining rallies, fundraising and advocating for Republican House candidates."
Not only does that significantly enhance his power. It gives more and more access to media attention. And, just as business was the story in the 1990s, politics is the story of these times. Yeah, we care what Steve Jobs is saying and try to connect the dots on what he's thinking. But we know that influence has shifted to Congress. The players there can even trump the U.S. Supreme Court, as they did with overturning the High Court's ruling on Ledbetter.
