The ratings on Oprah's old talk show clearly sent the message that folks were weary of the guru of everything. Yet, she apparently hasn't really reinvented herself for a second act on OWN. The question is: Does Oprah have the capability or even the will to start over again.
In NEW YORK MAGAZINE, Mike Vilensky reports that two months into OWN, only an average of 135,000 people are watching it. If I have a hot post, I get more visitors than that to my blog. More bad news. Only about one-third of them are in the prized feamle 25-54 demographic Oprah has targeted.
Right now, a tired Oprah seems to be imitating the iconic Oprah. Yet that act fizzled out a few years ago. Date that to the "girls" road trip with their uninvited stop at the two weddings.
