College reunions, at least when we Baby Boomers were younger professionals, used to be a great place to network. Also, they provided a way to measure how far we had come in careers and personal growth. Our former classmates and professors still alive were coordinates for our progress.
Now, we are older. Our worlds are orbiting faster+. Is there anything in it for us to invest the time and money into returning to a past? This summer the Class of 1967 at Seton Hill University, Greensburg, Pennsylvania will have a reunion. From Connecticut, the way there is a trip by plane. With globalization, I serve clients in nations like China and Canada, sucking me into a schedule which is hard to take a break from. At the reunion, I would be on a smartphone a lot. Also, and perhaps most disconcerting for this geezer, I have to depart from a routine which brings me so much satisfaction. That includes feeding two aging felines Carlotta and Jason, picking up the mail, smoozing with neighbors.
No, for this Baby Boomer, there's not enough in it for the old Hail Hail, the gang's all here.
