Everything was going great for my communications boutique. I anticipated that things were going to get a whole lot better. There was a call to come into Manhattan and talk with a startup about its needs. And that I did. A week later it offered $20 to research and then write an analysis of a private company. End ot that story. Then after presenting myself to a parent's publication, it offered $25 for a major feature story, with quotes from those interviewed. There's more. It would have to be submitted on spec.
Everything was again changing. This time I leaned into the change. Obviously I had to investigate a backup source of income. Either my luck was going bad or there was deflation in what communications folks get paid. I applied for a part time job handling social media onsite for a major auto company. Within a half hour it called. I have an interview this coming Sunday.
Now I have three interviews lined up for both part time and full time jobs.
