THE ECONOMIST fingers our existence as the next major crisis in the U.S. That's what it predicts in its current issue. Because there are 76 million of us Baby Boomers and we will live a long long time, we are going to pull more out of the system than we put in. Some of us are already collecting Medicare and Social Security.
Of course the younger generations resent us. But there isn't much they can do. As THE ECONOMIST points out, "The political power of the boomers is formidable." We constitute 17% of voters and we show up at the polls.
