Those are media tycoon Graydon Carter and businessperson-turned-politico Donald Trump.
Carter will sell more ad space through the traffic his anti-Trump articles attract. And there have been plenty of those. Here is the latest, bylined by Carter himself.
On the other hand, Trump solidifies the cohesion of his anti-establishment, anti-liberal loyalists by twitter-storming against Vanity Fair. In addition, those media personalities who can't penetrate the gates of Vanity Fair love all this. They have never been invited to Vanity Fair's Oscar gala.
The dynamics will multiply exponentially.
Soon enough, Trump could have his superlawyer media attorney, Charles Harder, filing a lawsuit against Vanity Fair, Carter and others in the loop. That will make big headlines.
It was Harder who won "Hulk Hogan v. Gawker." That litigation was funded by Trump early adopter venture capitalist Peter Thiel. Gawker is gone. Its former head Nick Denton lost plenty of money. And, hey, money is all that counts in Americana.
For those who don't take ideology too seriously, there is a good time to be had. After all, both media and what goes on in the courtroom have become the best of entertainment.
Also, digital influencers like myself are thriving. Everyone wants to get into the digital action. They contact influencers like myself to place sponsored content. There also is a whole series of posts I can create on how to influence the influencers. Most who approach me are living in a pre-Trump era.
They can exit it by reading "The Life & Times of Jersey City Mayor Frank Hague: I am the Law." Here they can order the 2011 from Amazon.
By reading that book, they too can reap the benefits of being a Machine Kid like myself.
My first 18 formative years were in Downtown and the Greenville sections of Jersey City. Those have been the platform for my bemused point of view. Leveraging that in these unhinged times is my number-one marketing tool. My stocking is filled with assignments for 2017.
