When it comes to Millennials, many of them making big bucks in tech, forget inviting them to a game of golf.
The Sports & Fitness Industry Association reports that Millennials have little interest in the game. In fact, 800 golf centers have been shuttered. Here are more details from BusinessInsider.
There are a number of reasons why golf is no longer the game to be associated with.
For one thing, the game is time-consuming. Both to learn and to actually play. The C-suite and middle management don't have that time. Not anymore. Thanks to global competition and digital communications the work day is boundaryless.
Another impediment to golfing is the cost. The easy money is over. Why invest in doing golf when a pick up game of hoops costs nothing. Also, 10 minutes of mindfulness can chill you out more efficiently than nine holes.
