Cosmetic surgery is up about five percent since 2009. Part of that increase is because some of us Baby Boomers feel at a disadvantage in the job market. Well, it could help.
What could help more is oral surgery, that is, taking an inventory of how we present ourselves in person and eliminating allusions, phrases and terms which tend to make us appear "old." For example, an energy executive I coached hammered at work, way too often, that they don't make television shows like they used to. He would allude to episodes from "I Love Lucy." Now he gushes about episodes from "The Good Wife" and how he can't wait until "Mad Men" is back.
Of course, none of us should try to be, like, totally cool in how we speak. That would only make us seem like we are trying too hard to pass for younger than we are. But there are small changes we can make to reduce the risk of sounding ancient and increase the potential for being perceived as the talents we are.
These days computer imaging allows a person to try out a new look before going under the knife. The surgeon will photograph and measure the patient's face and then make recommendations taking into consideration what the individual hopes the outcome will be.

I didn't realize that oral surgery and cosmetic surgery were different, and I guess that's an important distinction to make. I should do more research, because obviously I was not properly informed. I think I'll ask my doctor what she thinks. http://www.oralsurgerycenterchicagoheights.com
