The dark drama of the Les Moonves alleged sexual miscount gets a sequel.
The Wall Street Journal reports that instead of going away, Moonves is challenging the CBS board of directors' decision to deny him the possible $120 severance package. He is taking the option, specified in his severance package, to have the dispute submitted to arbitration.
This was expected. Moonves' lawyer - Andrew Levander of Dechert - denied that his client was guilty of any inappropriate sexual behavior.
The revival of the Moonves show is an ugly development for CBS. As it searches for a new CEO it wants a fresh start.
But this move by Moonves could also impair his own comeback. He could be perceived as an obstructionist. Who wants that type in their business?
The usual first step in a comeback after a scandal is to lay low.
